They use a scoring system based on test scores, student/teacher ratio, and some arbitrary “College Readiness” category. We may hate on Newton North, but I was so ready for college coming outta there. The culture of newton, as well as the school, is much like a college campus. Parties, school spirit, and a lot of homework. There is no way that 39 other high schools in the state are better than Newton North.
Yes, Newton South are our rivals, but to not have that school ranked makes this list lose all credibility. US News and World Report needs a culture touch really badly.
