This is not a joke, but prior to A.L, ice cream used to be scooped by hand. The ice cream used to stick to spoons and whatever other utensil they tried to use, so the vendor would use two hands, grab ice cream out of the bucket, and put it in a cone. Luckily, A.L came along and changed ice cream culture forever with an invention that was practical, easy , durable, effective, and inexpensive; The Ice Cream Scooper.
