We all know about one hit wonders. “Macarena” by Los del Rios. “House of Pain” by Faster Pussycat. Macaulay Culkin’s career never took off after The Home Alone series, and Andy Griffith never made anything significant after The Andy Griffith show. In my eyes, nothing can eclipse the one hit wonder of Mia Sara.
Who can forget Sloan Peterson, Ferris Bueller’s girlfriend in the 1986 film, Ferris Bueller’s day off? Sara, eighteen at the time, had such a scintillating smile. Her dazzling beauty should have left her atop of the box office in Hollywood for years to come. She was SUCH a burgah. Just thinking of her lightens my mood. She had so much potential, and for whatever reason that may be, she fell off the face of the earth. She will always be remembered as Ferris Bueller’s girlfriend, and that will suffice, but to think about what could have been resonates in my head every time I think about her. Time has ran out. She is 41 years old and there is no place for her in Hollywood. Her beauty has diminished as she is well past her prime. She was so innocent, yet so polarizing. She walked around with such credence as if every single guy that she talked to would marry her, yet her bona fide genuineness rubbed off on me like no other woman ever has. She could make your legs weak by just peaking her. Mia Sara, you were the ultimate babe with so much promise, and although your career will be remember for none other than Ferris Bueller’s girlfriend, we thank you for that.
I didn’t even know her name, what a shame. Great find.
