Charles of the day:  Charles Dickens

Charles Dickens(1812-1870) was the most popular novelist of the Victorian Era. The fact that he was a novelist automatically makes him a Charles.  He was famous for inventing fictional characters, such as Tiny Tim and Oliver Twist.  The British Broadcast Corporation ranked this Charles 41 on the top 100 Briton’s of all time.  To commemorate Mr. Dickens, his face was put on the banknote in the UK that is worth 10 pounds from 1992-2003.  His work is acknowledged in classrooms and his work continues to be highly influential in modern culture today.
